First week  (January 12-16)
Monday  -  Audio CD for course handed out.  For Wednesday, at home from the the audio CD, practive (p. 8, 9 in the Workbook)

                         proactive intonation structures #1, #2, (pp. 26-27).


Second week
 
(January 19-23)
Monday  -  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - NO CLASS!
Wednesday  -  First meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.  We shall meet in the IBM computer lab. 
            During the class period, you will make an "in" recording of the materials on pp. 1-2 of your "Instructional materials.   Press
             CTRL+AL + DELETE and log onto your computer using your student ID and password.  Open AUDACITY and make your "in"
             recording.  In AUDACITY EXPORT the file you have recorded as "MP-3."

Third week
  (January 26 - 30)

            We shall practice the intonation structures #5, (pp. 28-29).

Wednesday
  -  Second meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.   Insert your CD in your computer
            and load the Bryzgunova materials - exercises #1-12.   
Your finished MP-3 file of these materials is due Tuesday, February 3.  
            You may do this from your own home computer or from the langauge lab computers.

Fourth week
   (February 2-6)  
Monday - First dictation from p. 32.  We shall read aloud the poem on pp. 1-2.   Go over 2nd dictation, p. 33.
Wednesday
  -   Third meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.   You will continue with the
        Bryzgunova materials - exercises #13-22. 
Your finished MP-3 file of these materials is due Tuesday, February 10.   Export

            dialogue #1.  The Mukhanov (YELLOW colored binder) is in your пособие.  Please do not forget to bring it.

            The Mukhanov is in vol. I in your пособие.  Please do not forget to bring it.

Friday - - We shall go over the material on pp. 36-37.  Since this is the way that Russians commonly express "get to;" this is some of the
                most useful information presented this term in this course!
          

Twelfth week
  (March 30 - April 3) 
Monday - Hour exam through page 78.   in my «пособие».  You must be able to define new/given information in English and give the
            Russian equivalent terms.  You will be asked where new/given are located  in the Russian declarative sentence, in the
            English declarative sentence.  Translations will focus on vocabulary and syntax to page 78.  Additionally you will read two
            dialogues, which we have used as a diktant as well as a selection from the new Mukhanov materials. 

Wednesday - Ninth meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.   You will continue with the Mukhanov materials.

Fourteenth week  (April 13-17)
Monday - Hour exam through page 92 in my «пособие».   Be sure you know the vocabulary from the exercises. 
            There will be graded reading of a Mukhanov dialogue, one stanza of Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, and one item used for a diktant.


Wednesday
   -  Eleventh meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.    The Mukhanov is in your пособие. 
        Please do not forget to bring it.

- Penultimate meeting in the Language Resource Center, Southwick, Redstone Campus.   You make your "out"
            recording during the class period. 
You will continue with the Mukhanov materials - dialogues #7, 8.
