| McAllister took this image half a block farther back than Pine Street - Between Morse Place & Home Avenue, looking north, at the intersection of Home Avenue and Pine Street. The only house present in this block between Morse Place and Home Avenue is #975/973, under construction in the 1941/1942 city directory. For more information on this block and the house that sits on it see Pine Street & Morse Place. The other houses north of Morse Place are part of the Ferguson and Scarff addition. Visible in the center of the image in the distance, once again, is St. Anthony's steeple (for more information on St. Anthony's).
At this point in the construction, “The excavation for telford stone base had been completed on the easterly half of the street. . .”[36] After completion of the base, workers would lay the wearing surface after several months of traffic. Trees and houses now populate the intersection as well as the surrounding area, completing the southwest corner of the Addition. These elements represent the evolution of this intersection, in particular, and the Addition, in general, from an undeveloped area on the outskirts of Burlington to a bustling suburb.
