McAllister is documenting an attempt to move a truck that is stuck in the snow.  This picture is not dated but based on the picture of the High School and the type of truck it was probably taken in the 1920s.  In the background is 278 Main Street a Greek revival home, according to David Blow the house was occupied for 61 years by Dr. Allen Lyman, a physician and professor of surgery at UVM.  This also coincides with the city directories that show that Dr. Lyman lived there during the 1920s and 30s when the photo was most likely taken.[1]

The house is still standing today and is a private residence.
