Mike Daisey
Great Men of Genius: Nikola Tesla
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 7:30 PM
UVM Recital Hall | $25 adult / $20 student
Mike Daisey has been called “the master storyteller” and “one of the finest solo performers of his generation” by the New York Times for his extemporaneous monologues. For UVM, he'll present one evening of his four-part epic, "Great Men of Genius," focusing on Nikola Tesla - mad genius, brilliant scientist, and visionary who sparred with Thomas Edison and died insane and penniless writing love sonnets to pigeons after bringing the world electricity as we know it. Daisey illuminates the life of this complicated man with humor and heart in a performance that won the 2007 Bay Area Critics Circle Award and the San Jose Mercury News called "big time brain candy."
Note: There will be some adult language used in the production.
