What are sub codes and account controls used for?

A sub code is a four digit number that should follow your budget number in the Subsidiary Ledger  which gives an identification of what your budget is being used for; whether it be revenue/expense/payroll, etc.

An account control is a four digit subcode appended to a six digit General
Ledger account to represent a specific asset, liability, fund balance, fund addition, fund deduction or summary control.
