There are 2 different types of purchase orders.

What are regular purchase orders?

The items get ordered, paid for, and the p.o. gets closed out.

What are blanket purchase orders?

These remain open for the whole fiscal year 7/1-6/30, so several items
can be ordered from the same company all year long.
