Welcome to the FINANCIAL RECORD SYSTEM (FRS) Tutorial

The Financial Record System (FRS) is the University of Vermont's Accounting System. It includes Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Fixed Assets data. It is a real time system. What you view is what has been posted. To enter or access data, FRS has a wide variety of screens to select from depending on which task you are attempting to accomplish. In an effort to make a new or infrequent user more efficient in using FRS, the Purchasing Department and the Accounting Information Services department have designed this FRS tutorial.

This FRS tutorial is designed to show you how to accomplish the most frequent tasks or inquiries a typical user performs such as:

View an account  balance

Enter and approve  On-line Requisitions

View current month transactions

Research whether an invoice has been paid

View the list of encumbrances on a particular account

View to see if a budget change order has been processed

View actual expense totals for the month, fiscal year or project to date.

View whether a check has been cut to reimburse business expenses incurred by a UVM affiliated individual.
