In general, Andrew avoid any and all conflicts. He is a rather weak-willed man who will take the path of least resistance if at all possible. The only real motivations he has in life are money, which he feels keeps him away from his past in the combat zone, and his daughter or two years old, Carol ("Carol is the one pure thing this world has to offer me."). His wife, Angela, recently separated from him when she found out that he had fallen into dealing drugs as a side business, leaving him all but destitute.
In a campaign, Andrew initially appears to be just another corporate toady. He can be this, but he can also be an aid or employer to the player characters. He has a rather good technical repetoire, and may be able to supply a few items that aren't on the market yet. Also, he has made several enemies in his fight to claw his way to the top, and he might well turn to the PCs for help...unless those enemies make the runners a better deal...
Andrew sees the corporate machine as a way to achieve stability. He is a devoted family man, or at least he is in his eyes, and will do almost anything if his family is put in significant danger or if the PCs can point out how his family might benefit from his helping them.

Andrew Masters is a love/hate character. He is one of the lowliest corporates in Zetatech's R&D division, yet holds a higher position in life than many PCs will ever achieve. He has a few selfless bones in his body and has not completely sold out, yet seizes that chance to get ahead whenever he can.
Andrew Masters is a second-class corporate citizen and he knows it. He wears old-fashioned glasses to help with his astigmatism, and is still saving up for a cyberoptic upgrade. He wears suits and shirts that come off the rack, and even his hair gel smacks of a discount store.
Andrew was born into a poor hispanic American family on the edge of the combat zone. His parents were killed when they ran into the combat zone trying to save his life. He doesn't remember a time in his life when he hasn't been working, and has always vowed to get as far away from the combat zone as possible. Since he was an intellectual specializing in the field of cybertech as opposed to a combatant, he decided that the safest way to get ahead would be to join up with a corporation and climb the ladder. He applied unsuccessfully at Arasaka, EBM, and Militech before finally being accepted as a secretary in Zetatech. Since then, Andrew has risen only slightly, moving to the R&D department in the Night City offices thanks to his capable cybertech skills.
Andrew Masters should be representative of the typical corporate NPC. Very few people are actually in business for evil and evil alone, and most corporates should have a personality and a few motivations, if not a couple scruples. Even the faceless corporate machine is made up of real people with real lives, and folks like Andrew Masters are so enslaved to the system that they are just the type of people the PCs are fighting for.
