We are a not-for-profit club recognized by UVM’s Student Government Association. Our farm is organized and run by students using the Community Supported (CSA) model, with the guidance of advisor Ann Hazelrig of the Plant and Soil Science Department, and staff advisor Dave Heleba. Our club consists of committed and interested students, working together toward common goals, which include the following:
- Provide students with hands-on eduction growing organic vegetables on a commercial scale. Students gain experience in vegetable culture, harvest, crop scheduling, personnel management, and produce distribution;
- Creating a positive link between UVM and the greater Burlington Community, through the donation of 50% of our produce to local emergency food providers, such as the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf and the Burlington Salvation Army;
- Acknowledging aid from UVM supporters through the provision of fresh, nutritious, and delicious vegetables to our shareholders.
