As the weather begins to warm and winter retreats, Common Grounders are getting ready for the agricultural season.  For this season, Common Ground will be growing close to 200 different vegetable varieties: everything from Arugula to Zucchini.

The members of Common Ground have several goals for this upcoming season; we would like to maintain and expand our existing perennial crops (grapes, blueberries, herbs, aspargus), grow a large quantity of storage crops for a winter CSA, work on composting farm waste and vegetable scraps, grow and experiment with dye crops, and build soil health.  The club is also pursuing other agricultural interests: we will be plowing with horses this year, will be growing a grain crop, and would like to build a cob oven.

The club has been hard at work sowing seeds in our greenhouse,
and we already have early season lettuce in our hoop house.  Look for more updates as the season progresses.
