Call For Cooperative Observers

Official NWS Cooperative Observers Needed

The National Weather Service is in need of official Cooperative Observers in the following locations: Fair Haven/Poultney/PawletVergennes Typically, Cooperative Observers take temperature and precipitation readings around 7 AM, then phone these into a computer system, where they are eventually sent out to the public in a daily product. Although the time required to record the data each day is relatively minimal, daily dedication is a necessity. If too many days a month are skipped, the value of the overall record is jeopardized. For more information on the Cooperative Observer Program, or if you’re interested in becoming a Cooperative Observer in the above mentioned areas, contact Bill Grady at (802) 862-8711 ext. 225.
