Secure Ordering

There are ways to order from us without having to enter your credit card information on the Web:

You can send us your order along with a personal check or money order in U.S. dollars for the amount of your order.

You can call our toll free number (800-331-7305) or locally use 656-3290 to call in your order. Please have the order information and your credit card information handy.

You may also fax us your order at 802-656-8317. Please be sure to include your credit card information.

Unsecure Ordering

At this time we do not offer secure transactions via the web. We are establishing a secure method that should be available in the future.

We know you're concerned about security and privacy, and we hope this will help answer some of the most common questions.

The Internet works by sending information from computer to computer until the information reaches its destination. When data is being sent, every computer in between has an opportunity to look at what's being sent. This can pose a security problem.

For example, you are viewing our catalog on the World Wide Web and decide to buy a shirt. This requires that you include your credit card information to complete the transaction. You know the University Store is a reputable business, so you type in your credit card number and send the form electronically. Your information is then passed from your computer to another computer and on until it reaches our computer. Unfortunately one of the computers in between has been infiltrated by someone that watches for something interesting to be forwarded and your credit card information is very interesting to them. How often does this happen? It's hard to say but the important thing is that it's technically possible.

So with this in mind, please send us your order in one of the secure methods listed above and hopefully we can establish a secure site at our computer to ensure that you are protected.
