National Geographic Blog Features Shelburne Pond Research

UVM alumna Lisa Borre visited Shelburne Pond this past summer and received a firsthand look at ongoing undergraduate research. Lisa herself conducted an undergraduate research project on Shelburne Pond in 1985, when a massive fish kill severely altered the fish community to this day.

In her National Geographic blog, Lisa reflects on her history with the pond, observations of long-time angler who has been fishing the pond since he was a kid, and current research that is examining the impacts of blue-green algae blooms using traditional limnological methods and high-tech sampling technologies.
