Psychology professor Betsy Hoza led a team of researchers who studied the effects of moderate exercise before school on children with ADHD. Children in grades kindergarten through grade two who participated in 30 minutes of aerobic exercise were more attentive and less moody during the school day than those in a control group. The study, conducted at schools in Vermont and Indiana, involved 202 students. Hoza was the lead author in a paper published in the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology. This study was widely picked up by media.
