It’s a long way from Rodgers and Hart’s “Blue Moon” to Cee Lo Green’s… you know, “Forget You.” While the first generation of UVM Top Cats included the former in their repertoire, today’s students cover Cee Lo’s hit (clean version) along with their own share of classics. In between stand thirty years of a cappella music, fun and fellowship for this singing group that has grown into a UVM tradition. To be a Top Cat means sharing a strong bond forged through song and performance -- there’s a lot of trust involved when eleven guys step on stage armed with nothing but their voices.

On Saturday, Feb. 26, the current Top Cats will welcome back alumni for a 30th Anniversary Concert at Ira Allen Chapel. In addition to the performance by today’s Top Cats, alumni groups will also perform favorites from their eras, and all of the Top Cats present will join in at one point during the evening. Tickets available at the door beginning at 7 p.m.; doors open at 7:30; show at 8.
