Bad Manners, Hate Criminals, and Domestic Terrorists: Psychological Perspectives on Violent and Pathological Hatred.
Our country is experiencing a wave of biased behavior which runs from the semi-civil to the criminal in its manifestation. This evening program will provide an overview on the individual motives and lifestyles of persons who engage in forms of interpersonal provocation as well as those who engage in hate violence as either lone wolf perpetrators or as members of ideology groups. Using crime data and clinical research, we will consider the signals of a bias motivation that is related to violence and examine some of the factors that can be addressed to minimize on-going hate behaviors of individuals.
