Part II: UVM File Space
This portion of the lab is meant to be done
individually, not in groups.
To organize your digital content for your academic
career, it is useful to know how to access a file space set up for each UVM
student. This space can be used to store
course work, important UVM related content and personal files you need access
to while you are at UVM.
Objective:
To access your UVM file space via a
browser, as a mapped drive or as a mounted drive (Mac OSX).
Lab Requirements
This
lab requires a Macbook or Windows PC (iPad or Android device will not work).
1. Open https://webfiles.uvm.edu/
a.
Notice the S in https.
2. Upload a file to this space.
While on campus, you can access this space as a
network drive which would permit you to drag and drop files or save directly to
this location from any content editor.
To Map a Drive to your UVM network space, follow the instructions here
for your operating system (Windows 7, XP or Mac OSX):
http://www.uvm.edu/it/network/mapdrive/
Once you complete these steps, you
will see the file you uploaded via https://webfiles.uvm.edu
in this space. This is just another way
to connect to and manage content on this drive.
