Marketing concepts and methods and their applications for community entrepreneurs. Focus on development of marketing plan and its use in guiding business operations. Prerequisite: CDAE 061 or permission.

In this course, students will apply common marketing concepts techniques to entrepreneurial ventures. Emphasis will be community enterprises, ventures (businesses and other organizations) which contribute to community development, sustainability and well-being. Students will apply marketing techniques and concepts to existing local businesses as well as creating a marketing plan for a venture of their choosing.
Objectives. 1. Students will be able to identify and give examples of marketing concepts and techniques 2. Students will appropriately apply marketing concepts and techniques to a variety of cases and situations 3. Students will design a marketing plan for a venture of their choice which a. Frederick G. Crane, Sage Press. The textbook is mandatory. It is available in the UVM bookstore.
