Dates: June 29 - August 7, 2020
Analysis and application of teacher-leader roles in literacy K-12. Students will examine the changing roles of literacy teachers including reading specialists, instructional coaches and interventionists. This course will examine how literacy teachers engage in leadership through communication and practices at all levels of the education hierarchy. In addition, students will work to build an understanding of how these changing roles have the potential to promote equity for all students in this ever-changing academic landscape. Students will read works that define and demonstrate essential literacy leader practices as well as create framing to apply to their school.
