Section Description

This course is 100% online. Students will learn real-world problem-solving techniques using advanced Microsoft Excel woven into realistic business scenarios related to areas such as accounting, operations, marketing and more. Businesses must manage large amounts of data daily in order to make decisions quickly and accurately to maintain a competitive advantage. Excel is one of the most commonly used applications for data analysis in the world, and it has a variety of tools built-in to facilitate sound, data-driven decision making. Analyzing data can be vital to your decision-making process, either on the job or for personal use. This course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the tools Excel offers from auditing formulas, learning how to collect and maintain data, retrieval functions that help you analyze large amounts of data, creating amortization schedules, loan payments, finding relationships between data, predicting future values using a regression analysis, and creating powerful dashboards with Power Pivot, Power View, as well as, quickly gaining information and knowledge from data using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) while connecting data from various sources with PivotTables and PivotCharts.

Section Expectation

Prerequisite: BSAD 040 or BSAD 141; BSAD or CSIS Majors, BSAD Minors; Minimum Jr. Standing Students must spend an average of 6-9 hours per week of classwork for 5 weeks.


Prerequisite: BSAD 040 or BSAD 141; BSAD or CSIS Majors, BSAD Minors; Minimum Jr. Standing Credit Hours: 3, Students will be assessed on these learning outcomes through a variety of Discussion board posts, Homework cases, Quizzes, and a Final exam.
