UVM’s summer beekeeping course is being offered online in 2020. Through this course, students will acquire the knowledge you need to begin this rewarding hobby. Topics will include honey bee biology, integrated pest management techniques, how to test for hygienic behavior in bees and queen grafting/rearing! Students will get up close and personal to UVM’s 30 production hives through video demonstrations recorded at the UVM horticulture farm. There will also be guest lectures and additional demonstractions from bee researchers and beekeepers in our community! Students are encouraged to attend a weekly online discussion Thursdays 4:30-5:30, but the instructor can make other arrangements if you’re unable to attend at that time
