This course will prepare you to use statistics within and outside of your field. Concepts presented in this course will be useful to critical thinkers in an increasingly data-focused society, and the techniques covered will provide a foundation for understanding real-world research. From the course catalog: Basic overview and data classification, Descriptive statistics, Study design and data collection, Probability and distributions, Confidence Intervals, Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and regression.
We will be covering a chapter every 2 weeks. You will be expected to read the book, watch videos, and practice with supplementary materials to understand the concepts. Each week, there will be homework quizzes due and journals explaining what you've learned, what you're struggling with, and how you plan to prepare for the upcoming exams. The students are expected to keep up with the material as it will be difficult to catch up if a student falls behind.
Your grade for the course will be based on: • Reading (10%) • WileyPlus Homework Quizzes (15%) • WileyPlus Tests (4 at 15% each) • Journal (15%)
