### Notes

Dates: May 20 - June 28, 2019; Live online; MTR from 5-7:30 pm

### Section Description

MATH 271 covers differential equations. This course covers linear ordinary differential equations and Laplace transforms. MATH 121, “Calculus III,” is a pre-requisite of this course. Credit not given for both MATH 230 and MATH 271. (Mathematics majors are required to take MATH 230.)

### Section Expectation

You are expected to actively participate in this course. Perfect attendance may help your final average in the class. Less than perfect attendance will not help your final grade. Comprenez-vous? Homework will be assigned. I expect you to do it. Do you require special accommodations? Please let me know by Friday afternoon, May 24, 2019, at 4:00 PM EST. I would be happy to accommodate you! I am looking forward to working with you so that you will have a solid grasp on this important material. Having a solid understanding of this material will pave the way for a successful future!

### Evaluation

Final grade for the class is based upon: Quiz Average: 75% and Final Examination: 25%. My grading system follows: A+: 97% – 100%, A: 94% - 96%, A-: 90% - 93%, B+: 87% – 89%, B: 84% - 86%, B-: 80% - 83%, C+: 77% – 79%, C: 74% - 76%, C-: 70% - 73%, D+: 66% – 69%, D: 64% - 66%, D-: 60% - 63%, and F: below 60%. Make-up quizzes are not given. It is in your best interest to take every quiz and the final examination. If you miss any of these, you earn a 0% for it. The final examination must be proctored. I will happily proctor you. If you are not in this area, then you will need to be proctored by Proctor U: https://www.proctoru.com/. The final examination will be taken and submitted during class on Thursday, June 27th. I will have it in my possession by 7:45 PM EST. No late final examinations will be accepted.
