Dates: July 16 - August 10, 2018; Room locaton: Discovery 414S; PBPM students; Also CEMS students, but only before they take intro Physics course at UVM. If already completed PHYS 11, 31, or 51 this is not the course that should be taken. The class will be graded Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory. It may not be taken for credit concurrently with, or following receipt of credit for PHYS 11, 12, 13, 31, 51, 125, or 152.
This is a course that combines hands-on experiments, group problem solving, and individual work to refresh material for students that have been away from traditional academia and/or physics and the math it uses.
There are 8 sessions, 2 each week for 4 weeks. We'll do hands-on experiments on the first session of a week, and group problem solving and discussion in the second session of the week. There will be online homework problems.
The course is only grades S/U, based on successful completion of the online homework. The homework is done to mastery; you can attempt it as many times as needed to achieve a passing score.
