 FEEDBACK SHEET  (HDFS XC Smith)

<>
NAME:_________________________________    DATE DUE:____________    HANDED_IN DATE:_______

Key Points:

DICE  =  Description, Interpretation, Context, and Emotion

D         =          Describe briefly your understanding of the event’s major activities or behaviors.

This should give me the major point(s) defining what happened.

It is a brief statement of what happened without interpretation or explanation.

I           =          Interpretation of the events(s) from the culture of the group and from your own

cultural perspectives.
Use the course materials to support your interpretation(s) with theory and/or references.

C         =          What contextual issues influenced your experience?  Clearly explain and define the

role of context for yourself and as compared with your partners experience..

E          =          Emotion related to the experience should be discussed.  Did your feelings

change over time?  Discuss your feeling before during and after the event.
What was the source of your feelings?

How did your emotion impact your experience of the event? Focus this section on feelings only, not logic.

NOTE:  Each person does a paper whether individual or pairs assignemnt.

Presentation:

The students should employ a mode of expression other than that the traditional academic paper
to address a cultural theme (teach class about a critical point concerning culture).
The "expressive act" is to be presented in class.  You will sign-up for dates in November.

Please write a one page outline to give to me with:

-                     Brief description,

-                     Learning objectives and

-                     Reason you picked this theme.

It should demonstrate  self-awareness , be well organized, and incorporate appropriate theories/models.
The grade will be based on the criteria above and not on the artistic quality of the "act."
