Transportation & Parking
As you can imagine space is limited and there’s a lot of people coming and going. Here’s how UVM makes the process as easy as possible for everyone:

Parking on Move-In Day
Once you arrive on campus, follow the instructions of the folks in brightly colored vests. They will direct you to a spot where you'll quickly unload your vehicle before moving it to a more permanent parking space. After that you'll be ready to unpack your things and settle in!

Bon Voyage!
Students - you'll have plenty of time to move in and setup your belongings, so make sure you and your family join us for the New Student & Family Reception at 3pm (1/9) in the Davis Center

Transportation at UVM
UVM Shuttle Buses are an easy way to get around - and since shuttle routes serve the entire campus, you'll be able to get to where you're going easily and quickly. Pro Tip: Download the Transloc bus tracking app - you'll be able to see where campus shuttles are at all times and never miss your bus!
First year students are not permitted to have a car on campus. But don't worry - you can take the city buses for FREE with your UVM ID (a.k.a. the CATcard). Having a hard time making heads or tails of the bus routes? Google Maps Transit is an excellent tool to easily plan your route on public transportation.
CarShare Vermont works closely with UVM to provide students convenient access to vehicles. In fact, they have cars parked on campus that you can check out. It's convenient and affordable. Plus, UVM students get a free membership!
Bikes are a popular way we get around campus and town. It’s easy to sign-up for the discounted student rate of the Greenride Bikeshare program or lease a bike from the student-led Bike Education Center .
Megabus, Greyhound , Coto Travel , Amtrak provide a great access to Boston, NYC, D.C. and places in between. UVM provides shuttles to the Downtown Transit Center and Essex Junction Train Station before breaks and holidays.
These and other transportation options are noted on the Transportation and Parking website.
