Scenario 2000 : Teaching

Teaching

Teaching at a university is usually seen to contain two components. A history professor, for example, teaches not only "history", but also "how to think like a historian." Ubiquitous computing, will allow teachers to share both their "data" and their "tools" with their students.

Because computers are still in their infancy, however, the overwhelming body of work to be done allows an interesting opportunity -- challenging the student to build the (computerized) body of knowledge (knowledge-base).

Hope Greenberg has proposed a scale of electrification that sketches out how computing and communication technology, especially electronic mail and the world wide web, become integrated into the curriculum.
