Welcome to my homepage. My name is Sara Collins and I am from in Pepperell Massachusetts.
I am a first-year student at the University of Vermont. I am studying Nutrition and Food Sciences with a concentration in Dietetics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In particular, my academic interest within my major involves the side of nutrition that focuses on how the nutrients we consume interact with our bodies, the sort of microbiological side to nutrition rather than the agricultural and food systems aspect. In terms of professional experience, I have none in the field of nutrition necessarily, but rather in exercise, another huge component of nutrition. I have over seven years of experience coaching gymnastics, and another year of experience working the front desk at the YMCA. In addition, I have some basic experience in the lab, as I spent my first semester at the University of Vermont as a Biological Sciences Major. This came with a lab in Biology. While this is not necessarily job experience, it does provide lab experience.
Outside of the work environment, a few of my social interests include community service, traveling, and doing gymnastics myself rather than coaching it. I have hopes to become a dietician at the end of the schooling road.
