2002 "Year in Review"

Well, I finished up my last year of college at Eastern University in May.  It was a bittersweet time as I had to say good-bye to my wonderful roommates and shelter from the “real world.”  However, I was glad to be finished with this chapter of my life and move on to the next.

Since then, I enjoyed a family vacation to Maine for a week and my boyfriend, Dan, was able to join us (more on him in a bit! ?)  The conclusion of this trip, however, was difficult with my grandma passing away and Dan’s grandfather passing away, just within two days.  This experience was unique in that we were both dealing with much of the same feelings at the same time and together.

In August I got a job as an assistant to an interior designer with a high end custom home builder in no place other than Chappaqua, just down the street from the dear Clinton family.  I very much enjoyed this job.  However, since the market wasn’t exactly good, therefore $2-3 million dollar homes were not in high demand, they had to let me go.  They just couldn’t afford me!  This was a bit disappointing, but I knew it was coming.   Currently, I’m looking for a new job, which is a full time job in itself!

OK, so I guess I should tell you about Dan now.  We met at Eastern through communications classes.  He started to show interest, but there was no way I’d even think about it.  Eventually he did something right (to this day we both can’t figure out what that actually was!) and we started dating in February.  He took an extra semester to finish his double major and his graduation date is December 14th (Dad’s birthday).  After this he’s moving back home to Randolph, New Jersey.  Things are great with us!

It’s nice being home.  I’m living in my grandmother’s apartment and am enjoying my own space.  My girlfriends from high school are also at home working.  It’s wonderful to have them close again!
