Laboratory Facilities

The M-Sense Research Group operates a 800 sq-ft, state-of-the-art biomechanics laboratory in Votey Hall which is located on UVM’s main campus, only a five-minute walk from collaborators in the UVM Larner College of Medicine and College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The research lab includes clinical exam space, a 19-camera Vicon optical motion capture system, two in-ground AMTI AccuGait force platforms, an h/p/cosmos Quasar pressure treadmill, 10 APDM Opal wearable sensors, and 30 BioStamp nPoint wearable sensor systems. The laboratory also includes dedicated laptop and desktop computers (Mac and PC), one of which has been specifically designed to enable efficient training of cutting-edge deep artificial neural networks, and a dedicated external phone line used for subject recruitment. There is a parking lot directly adjacent to Votey Hall and the lab is handicap accessible.
