Reading data into JMP

Copy & Paste data from a file:
If the 'JMP Starter' dialog box is not open, select View:'JMP Starter'
Select 'File' in the upper left of the 'JMP Starter' box
open a dataset (text file or URL), highlight and copy the data (Note: the data should be tab delimited with Variable names in the first Row)

[For example, the Tire Data used in the 'Creating a JMP Data Table' link]
click on 'New Data Table' in the 'JMP Starter' box (or File: New: Data Table)
select Edit:'Paste With Column Names'

Read in data from a file:
click on 'Open Data Table' in the 'JMP Starter' box
select 'Text Files (*.txt,*.csv,*.dat,*.tsv)' next to 'Files of type:'
select 'Data with preview' next to 'Open as:'
navigate to the location of the file and open it
check the appropriate boxes so that the file looks the way it should
(e.g., Tab delimited with column names on line #1)
click 'next' and then 'import'

Stacking 2 separate data columns into one for analysis
select Tables:'Stack'
select the columns to stack
This will create a new dataset with the data in a format that can be used for the 2-sample tests
(i.e., one column of data and one column of labels).

Copy & Paste a Graph or Table into Word
click on the plot
select Edit:Copy
paste into Word
