Characteristics
Very reliable, stable, and secure; can handle large numbers of interactive users with decent performance. Ability to:
  1. run other operating systems(including itself) as guests
  2. run multiple copies of the same OS
  3. run multiple versions of the same OS
  4. create, modify and test OS code on production system without special priviledges
