| Crystal Reports/ BI Publisher | With
the upgrade to PeopleTools 8.55, Oracle no longer supports Crystal
Reports. All delivered Crystal reports are being redelivered with a new
reporting tool called BI Publisher. All custom Crystal reports that we
created at UVM will need to be converted to BI Publisher reports.
There are not many Crystal reports that are widely used in
PeopleSoft Financials. There was one Crystal report that was used in
HCM, and that was for the Salary Distribution Change request. As you
may recall, instead of going to the Process Monitor to retrieve the
report output, in HCM now when the print button is pressed, the report,
which was rewritten using BI Publisher, now pops up in a new window on
the page. In PeopleSoft Financials, sometime before the PeopleTools upgrade goes live at the end of November 2017, we will roll out the converted BI Publisher reports. The most widely used of these are the PurCard report and the Journal Report, which are already live. For both of these, when the print button is pressed, the report output pops up in a new window. For other reports, the output will go to the Report Manager instead of the Process Monitor. We will publish a list of the reports that are being converted along with information about how to access the report output. Note that most of the reports that were custom-built at UVM are written with a tool called SQR, and they will not be changing. The output of sqr reports can be viewed both in the Process Monitor and in the Report Manager. Information about how to interact with the Report Manager will be coming soon. |
