In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Great American Smokeout, Dr. John Hughes, professor of psychiatry, Brian Flynn, research professor of family practice and director of the Office of Health Promotion Research, and Roger Secker-Walker, former director of the Office of Health Promotion Research, were honored by the American Cancer Society of Vermont for their leadership in the fight against tobacco use in Vermont. The three received the award at a special dinner and ceremony on Nov. 15, Great American Smokeout day.
