Atomic and molecular worlds are often
considered the province of scientists, but technology has opened up these
microscopic landscapes of nature to artistic exploration as well. At their
core, these digital paintings are artistic expressions of a molecular microcosm,
a stylized view of the now instrumentally visible sub microscopic parts
of the natural world. They beg comparison with more familiar imagery of
the everyday world in which we live. Yet, these landscapes emerge from
a much different place, a world far beneath our direct experience. They cross
the chasm between visible and invisible using scientific calculation and
artistic expression, acting in tandem to produce images that seem strange
and yet, hauntingly familiar. All images are copyrighted ©
