FCC ruling - Pay Per Call 
The FCC has ruled: 1) You may not be disconnected for questioning or refusing to 
pay PAY PER CALL charges, however, your access to Pay Per Call may be 
blocked. 2) You should not be billed for Pay Per Call charges that are not in 
compliance with FCC rules. 3) Pay Per Call blocking may be available from 
Verizon at no charge for 60 days from the date your service was installed. 
Local Rates to Change 
Beginning September 1, rates for some residential services will change, including 
flat and message rate basic single-line service and Directory Assistance. Rates 
will also increase for ISDN single-line service, local toll service, Call Blocking 
Service, Speed Call 30, and directory services such as non-published listings. 
The increases vary by the type of service you have and the area in which you 
live -- ranging from 5 cents to 79 cents.
