Exam 1 is coming up: Exam 1 covers Chapters 1--3 in Knight, Jones and Field,  College Physics: A Strategic Approach, 3/e, related homework assignments and related lecture material. It will be held during our regular class meeting in 235 Marsh on Monday, September 21.

The format of the exam will be in part multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank, but there will also be some problems for you to solve and show your work.

NOTE: If you have any conflicts with this time you must let me know in writing in advance by 1:30 p.m., Friday, 9/18. Any unexcused absence will result in a zero unless you provide written evidence of some emergency that prevented you from taking the exam at the appointed time and place.

Important topics:

The exam will be closed-book and closed notes.  The following equations will be provided to you with the exam; you must apply them appropriately to each question to which they may be relevant.

Please bring a scientific calculator to the exam.   The use of smartphones, tablets, or laptops will not be permitted.
