Hinckfuss’s “Topis, Soris, Noris”

It is easy to get confused about what Hinckfuss’s thesis is, so be careful when you try to figure out what it is.  Do you think Hinckfuss believes that time does flow or that it doesn’t?  His thesis is not really either one of these.

Also, be careful about what, exactly, ‘topis’ and other such words mean.  Again, it’s easy to get confused.

Most importantly, though, why is he introducing these words?  What’s the whole point of having a word like ‘topis’?  He’s drawing an analogy, but how exactly does the analogy go?
