Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House

For many years, Mortar Board Akraia Chapter has been cooking dinner at the Ronald McDonald House in Burlington on Sunday nights.  It has become a tradition that is passed on year to year to the incoming class, and one that we are proud of.

The Ronald McDonald House opened on February 14, 1984.  It is known as Vermont's "The House That Love Built" thanks to the community's donations of furniture, wallpaper, paint and volunteers over the years.  Most guests come from Vermont and northern New York State, but there have been individuals and families from 39 states and several foreign countries stay at the house. All guests have children who are seeking medical treatment at the University of Vermont Children's Hospital.
