Sampling Date:    1 October 1993

Data Set:
percent cover of four common fern species in 1 square-meter
quadrats. Quadrats were positioned in a 30 square meter area
using coordinates taken from a random numbers table. Each line
in the data table below represents the data from one quadrat.
 
General Location:
maple stand immediately north of sugar shack
at Proctor Maple Research Center, Underhill Center 
Vermont.

Key:
Dist - meters from one edge of the 30 x 30 meter study area.
         This edge bordered on a road.
Hayscent- Hayscented fern (Dennsteadtia punctiloba)
NY    - New York fern (Thelypteris noveboracensis)
Cinnmn- Cinnamon fern (Osmunda cinnamomea)
Sensi - Sensitive fern (Onoclea sensibilis)
