But I am looking forward to the summer and more work on the projects. Thanks again, the support from your office and grant is invaluable! Sue Sue, I did get your application for a mentor last semester.Ê Sorry I didn't get back to you about it.Ê We didn't have enough money to support all the applications, so we tried to give mentors to faculty who hadn't had one before. Are you interested in one for this semester? Thanks again! Holly Buckland Parker University of Vermont Faculty Evaluation Form: Your Name:Ê Susan Kasser Date:Ê Feb. 7, 2003 Pre-Service Student Mentors name that you worked with: Kristen SCrivens Ê 1.Ê Overall, how would you rate this experience: ____ Very good __X_ Good ____ Fair ____ Poor Ê 2. What were the project goals established for your work with the mentor? ÊKristen was helping to develop a template for a website for the Physical Education Program and then help with my own personal website. Ê Ê 3. Were these goals: _____Not AchievedÊ __X___Partially AchievedÊÊ ___ Fully Achieved Ê 3a.Ê If not fully achieved, please explain: ÊI think the only reason for the goals not being met fully was that of time.Ê Both Kristen and I were very busy and the work did not get going as quickly as planned.Ê Also, there was more that was needed beyond just transferring already-developed word documents onto web pages which I was unaware of at the start. Ê Ê 4.Ê Was this program helpful to you?Ê If yes, how did this experience help you with your courses and your own technology expertise.Ê If no, please explain. ÊThe program was helpful and provided me with better insight into the makings of a website and some of the skills necessary to achieve this end. Ê 5.Ê What changes would have made this a better learning experience for you? I would have planned more tutorial sessions between me and my mentor so that I would have the skills to edit and improve on the website after her departure.Ê The way in which things were set up with me simply providing her with material to add to the site was not as conducive to me knowing how to continue on. Ê For the mentor? I am not sure here.Ê We really did not have a final meeting due to her finishing student teaching, graduating, etc. Ê Ê Ê 6.Ê Did you feel you received the support you needed to accomplish the goals established ?Ê If no, what kind of support should have been available? Ê ÊYes, for a start.Ê It would have been nice to have another student mentor assigned after this period to help complete the work.Ê Although one was requested, I never did hear back as to my request or why the request was not supported. 7. Would you recommend this program to other University of Vermont Faculty?Ê Why or why not? Ê ÊYes, but I would hope that more guidance for both the mentor and faculty member could be provided in terms of setting realistic goals and helping to achieve them by the time period designated. Ê Ê 8.Ê Please add any other thoughts or comments concerning this program. Ê -- Susan L.
