How Tasmanians put the 'Bushwa' in Bushwalking

The hike from Coles Bay up to the Wineglass Bay Lookout and down to Wineglass Bay itself is variously described in our guidebooks as anything from Easy to Moderate to a Rigorous Uphill Walk. I've been bushwalking with Tasmanians and I don't trust their modifiers. When they say something is "a bit of a scramble" and somebody in the crowd (somebody from Western Australia in this case) asks if it's a "scramble" or more of a "climb", they have to stop and think about it.

The Lonely Planet guidebook had an almost full-page sidebar about this hike and how it was not meant for tenderfeet or people pushing prams. Six hundred rough-cut bush steps up and down, there and back. It didn't sound inviting to me. I opted for the boat.
