Well, ya gotta earn a living, right?
So I was a nurse for 15 years, ten of those years in pediatrics. Then,
when the time came to return to school, I decided to pursue an early dream
I had to become a medical research scientist.
This desire led me to Trinity College of Vermont where I graduated,
magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Biology.

The dream realized,
I am now researching molecular genetics at The University
of Vermont in the laboratory of Dr. Paula Fives-Taylor.
We're in the department
of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics and our lab is studying the genetics
of bacteria that cause disease in the mouth - like cavities and gum disease!

I also enjoy my other job at Champlain College where I live as Head
Resident in a dormitory. Now this is fun!
My dorm is home to 40 students and is also, proudly, the Wellness
Dorm on campus. Being the wellness dorm means that we run lots of
"wellness" programs and have lots of "fun-ness"!
