Summary:
Most
students have their own computer and are familiar with MS-Word, browsing
the Web, and Chatting with Instant Messenger. Many (63%) have given
a PowerPoint presentation before and have downloaded and installed software
on their PCs.
Students
have not had much experience with Spreadsheets, and their graph skills
need improvement. Most have not created a web page (81%) and those
that have do not know HTML. Most have had no experience with FTP
or Telnet. The vast majority of student (95%) have no experience
with programming languages. Most students do not have detailed knowledge
about information technology hardware.
