Day 1 - The proud parents and their eggs! (alone in a planted 75 gallon tank)

proud parents with their brood. They spawned less than a week after moving into their new tank. They
courted, turning their striped on and off constantly. I had no idea they could do that, but they'd be pale as
a silver ghost one minute, and completely black striped 3 seconds later! |

They are fairly protective, though not aggressive toward us - yet |

wow! |
Day 2 - It's obvious that some eggs did not get fertilized or were attacked by fungus for some other reason.

Gack, reminds me of a sore throat! |

Day 3 - Major attrition - I knocked some of the fungused eggs off with a chopstick after taking the above
pictures, and parents cleared out the
rest during the night/morning.
We lost many good eggs in the process, I'm afraid. I'm not sure if I should have intervened.

Terrible picture, but you can see how few eggs are left - not more than 40 or so. |
Day 4 - They have tails and wriggle constantly. Parents are moving them from leaf to leaf frequently.

See them huddled in the upper right? |

I don't know why it's so hard to take pictures of what looks perfectly clear to me.. here they are huddled
together wiggling, like they're concocting some major secret plan. Yeah I know, they probably only have a few
hundred neurons, but they LOOK smart with those new tails and eye spots, ok?

OK lady, that's enough! |
Here are a few bonus Malaysian trumpet snail photos.. still working on my macro photography.

Day 5 - Definitely wriggling! I have no idea how or why they seem to stick to the leaf.

Horrible photo, I'll take more soon. Time to start some bring shrimp? Groan! |
