I've had a little change of plans. I'd like to
make the readings on Italic morphology and dialectology
optional, mainly because they are pretty advanced
discussions, and to ask everyone to focus on the next
chapter from Clackson and Horrocks, "The Road to
Standardization". In class, we'll look again at the
Saturnian, the Carmina briefly, and
three inscriptions: Duenos, Scipio epitaphs, and thesenatus
consultum de bacchanalibus (the latter
two in C & H, the former in Fortson). I'll pull out some
salient points from Vine and Fortson."
- All three chapters are in pdf's below.
Focus particularly on the Clackson & Horrocks reading:

- For Fifth Session
