Paper Workshop #1:
Paper proposals / initial
presentations due: short thesis statement (300–500
words) defining the problem under review, methodological
approach, and working bibliography of at least 10 items of
secondary literature (books or articles, excluding
textbooks, primary sources, or general works of
reference).
Bibliographical review due. This is an essential
preliminary and perhaps component of your semester paper,
a kind of annotated bibliographical essay. You will survey
the existing state of your chosen problem, based on
literature identified in Stage 1 and any other relevant
material identified since then. By now you should have
recruited your two faculty paper-readers.
