This commentary is a template I intend to use for classes. It has three parts: text, commentary on that text, and vocabulary from that text. In the future, a glossary may be useful. Links to other pages for a specific class will also be added on an ad hoc basis. The current version has three links which open up three different windows. That may seem a bit much, but with a little fiddling, you can set them to whatever size is convenient for you. I'd rather do that than have just one setting that I decide upon which would force you to waste screen space in a way that is not good for you. Whether you like to have your vocabulary in a narrow column on the right or left, in a row at the bottom, or just in a large window that you can click to and from, this way of doing things offers you great flexibility. Remember, too, that you can get rid of most or all of the toolbars in the windows--that will help save on space. Of course, an actual commentary for one of my classes, for example, would have a Latin text, and Latin to English vocabulary. I just wanted to play around here to find a simple but flexible format. If you have suggestions, email me at jbailly@zoo.uvm.edu.
