Please find attached a copy of a letter of intent that Steve Mack, Steve Marsh, Hazael Maldonado-Torres, Rich Single, Wolfgang Helmburg, Derek Middleton, Diogo Meyer and I submitted to the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) to partially support the efforts of the IDAWG. The letter of intent will serve as a template for an expanded grant proposal that we plan to submit to NIH at the end of May. We will hear from the HFSP in regards to the status of our application in early July.
Many thanks to those of you who have contributed letters of support for our applications for funding to support the IDAWG. Although we initially anticipated a deadline for submission of April 27, we are planning to submit instead on May 27; if you would still like to provide a letter of support as per our earlier email, we would greatly appreciate it if you could do so by May 1.
Lastly, if you have not already done so, please let us know if you will be able to attend the initial meeting of the group scheduled during the upcoming EFI meeting in Ulm; we have the "Hamburg" room reserved at the conference center at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 11. We hope to be able to video conference with those of you will not be able to attend in person. Again, please send along any items that you would like to discuss during the meeting.
