The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies H. Greene with this building. [7] The 1890 Burlington City Directory lists him as working with “leather and findings” at 194 College street and residing at 21 Loomis Street.8

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies no name with this building. [12] A historic site survey for 57 Loomis states that W.O. Crane resided here before building his own house in the mid 1880’s.13

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies Mrs. C.C. Smith with this building. [14] The 1888-89 and 1890 Burlington City Directories list a Mrs. C.C. Smith as the widow of L.E. Smith and residing at 116 North Winooski Ave.15

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies Z.T. Austin with this building. [16] The 1888-89 Burlington City Directory lists him as a contractor and builder housed at 51 Loomis Street. The 1890 directory lists him as an architect and builder with office and residence both at this address. 17

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies Mrs. J.E. White with this building. [18] The 1890 Burlington City Directory lists Mrs. Johanna White as the widow of N. White. The 1888-89 Directory shows her housed at 500 South Union Street and the 1890 Directory shows her housed at 445 South Union Street.19 A historic site survey dates the house to1888.20
57 Loomis Street

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies W.O. Crane with this building. [21] The 1888-1889 Burlington City Directory lists him living at this address and as an express messenger for the Eastern Division of the Central Vermont Railroad. The 1890 Directory lists him as an express route agent.22 A historic site survey dates the building to the 1880s.23 The 1889 Sanborn Insurance Map shows it, but the 1885 version does not provide coverage of this area of Loomis Street.

The 1890 Hopkins Map indentifies H. J. Colton with this building. [24] The 1890 Burlington City Directory lists Herbert Colton as a wood dealer in Winooski housed at 58 Loomis Street.25 A historic site survey dates the building to the 1880s.26
